Children

Welcome to St Luke’s Church, West Holloway, we hope you’ll find us a warm and friendly lot. There’s plenty on offer for families here and this page will help you find your way round what’s available.

11am Sunday Service
We start the service all together and there’s usually a children’s talk before they head off for their Sunday school activities; whether visitors or regular attenders, all children are welcome to join in.

Juniors; this is for children only from age 3 and upwards till they finish primary school.

Seniors; this is for older children of secondary school age, during some services these children stay in to listen to the service.

We also have a crèche available for babies and smaller children which you’re welcome to use at any point during the service. We’re keen to encourage a thoughtful quiet space in which to listen to the sermon and prayers.

All the children return to the main worship area in time for communion. St Luke’s welcomes everyone at the communion table and this includes children, if children put their hands out for bread they will be given some. If parents would prefer, their children can receive a blessing instead.
We also offer gluten free bread for those with allergies.

Youth Club
St Luke’s runs a youth club every Sunday evening in term time from 6-7.30pm and welcomes children/youth from Year 7 upwards.

Children’s Choir
The children’s choir regularly take part in the morning worship and they rehearse from 10.30-11am every termtime Sunday morning. The choir is open to all children in year 2 and above.

Safeguarding
At St Luke’s we take the safety of children and other vulnerable people very seriously. Sheena Cruse is our Safeguarding Officer, and Susie Holland is our Children’s Champion.
