From January to March each year St Luke’s works with six other churches to provide hospitality to sixteen homeless guests. St Luke’s hosts Saturday nights, and the other churches one night each. We offer guests an evening meal, overnight accommodation and breakfast – but most importantly we provide company and friendship at what can be a dull and lonely time in people’s lives.
St Luke’s always needs volunteers for our breakfast, overnight and evening shifts; for cooking meals; for putting on entertainment or additional services for guests; for fundraising and administration; and for help with washing and sorting linen and clothes.
Most volunteers get huge enjoyment from the experience: the pleasure of undertaking simple tasks, showing generosity to other volunteers and guests, and meeting people you might not ordinarily come into contact with can be a rare and enriching experience.
If you are able to help with any of these, please contact the coordinator Dan Northam Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org
